book excerpt

"AII truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident"
ArthurSchopenhauser German Philosopher (1788-1860)

When you first look at this book, you may think that there may be a printing error, No, there is not. This book is really 2 books in one and I purposely put them back to back.
So if you are reading this now, then continue reading this section before starting the next. I think some background knowledge is important before we start to discuss treatment options.
The first book covers research about hormones, the use of the synthetic hormones (Hormone Replacement Therapy - HRT) and why the natural Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (B-HRT) is safer and therefore better. The other book, yes, that's right, turn the book over and have a look, covers the treatment side of hormones.
I want to show that there are many ways of treating hormonal problems, in men and women ...... and this is more than just supplementing hormones. Just supplementing hormones, even the natural bio-identical ones, is not really that much different from conventional doctors who give HRT, even though B HRT is definitely much, much safer.
Sure, we can replace hormones, but the question we should ask is - "Why do hormones decline or become imbalanced in the first place?"~ The ageing process, of course, is one reason: but there is also the pollution, the poor western diet, the stresses, in fact, nearly all aspects of western civilized living has an effect on our health and in turn, our hormones, or is it the other way round?
If we use the diet, nutrition, herbs, etc we may make a difference. Bio-identical hormone replacement can be a part of that.
This section does contain long, complicated medical words that are included for the medical reader. The lay person may decide to skip these parts, though I do endeavour to include a simple explanation. By doing this I am trying to cater for both the medical and the lay reader.
